Needed: recruits to monitor and report on FSB reports
September 8, 2011
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
New Rules, with a lot of help from Development Finance International and many others is getting ready to launch FSB Watch website at the Annual Meetings of the Bank and Fund on Saturday September 24, 9-10:30 a.m.
We would very much like to have experts monitor the FSB on their specific topics, and distribute links to FSB material, or information that “interprets” FSB products on topics such as:
- International debt, including low income country/developing country debt
- Trade and Financial Services
- International tax agreements, standards, information sharing, etc.
- Derivatives
- As tools for speculation in food and fuel
- As financial products more generally
- Banking and low income/developing countries
The goal is to make the work of the FSB more transparent , accessible and relevant to other issues, especially those where groups are already campaigning.
If you can volunteer to help on one of these issues, or would like to serve as the Lead on any of the issues. Please let me know at your earliest, so we can provide your name as an expert on the website.
If you would not like to be publicly acknowledged that way, we can discuss another arrangement more convenient for you.
Of course if you would like to suggest someone else who is like to be interested and knowledgeable, I am happy to follow up with them.
Let me also inform you the Dr. Domenico Lombardi has led the High-Level Panel on FSB Governance and is arranging the release of the Panel’s Recommendations on Friday morning, September 23. If you are in Washington and would like to attend that, please let Domenico or me know ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ).
Thank you for your interest in the FSB. I look forward to working with you to making the FSB an effective, transparent, and accountable institution contributing to a stable, equitable and inclusive global economy.
Sincerely,
